Ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions, quantum chromodynamics, confinement phenomenology, effective action in quantum field theory at zero and finite temperature.

Main results:
the QCD partition function at finite temperature in a background gluon field, instability of chromomagnetic flux tubes, QCD heat kernel in covariant background gauge in arbitrary dimension, the stochastic deceleration of color charges in QCD vacuum and the dilepton radiation near a deconfinement phase transition and general nonlinear evolution equation in QCD at small x.

Current interests:
the QCD pomeron regime in ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions, QCD kinetics and physics of hadron gas at extreme temperatures and densities.
